Barn Wedding Venues in Cornwall

Barn wedding venues are hugely popular in Cornwall as they allow couples to have an authentic English wedding, away from the standard hotels and country estate houses.

By stripping back the venue to a beautiful, raw building, in an often equally wild and green setting, there’s something uniquely organic about a barn wedding. And, for me, their rustic grace results in effortlessly charming photos each and every time.

If you’re interested in a barn wedding venue in Cornwall, then look no further. Here are some of the best.

Nancarrow Farm

First on the list is the well-loved Nancarrow Farm, in Zelah. It’s established quite the reputation in Cornwall, and with good reason. You’ll get a truly authentic experience here, from making your way along the oak-tree-lined bumpy track, and past endless rolling fields, to the heart of the farm where the beautiful farmhouse and historic barns sit. This is a working organic farm, so you can also relish its fresh produce from the wood-fired kitchen as part of your special day.

The Green

The Green is located amidst the vast rolling hills of Bodmin Moor, and will cast you far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This serene and picturesque location adds to the charisma of the barns – wherever you look, you’ll be met with wonderfully wild views. Within this private estate, you can opt for your ceremony to take place in the intimate cottage, in an open space next to Lake Arbour, or in one of the scattered barns situated amongst the meadows.

Trevenna

Trevenna has a boastful cluster of exceptionally beautiful barns, resting in the heart of 142 acres of Cornish countryside in St Neot. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty means you and your wedding party will be completely spoilt by nature wherever you venture, making it ideal for walks before and after the ceremony too. The Threshing Barn venue, which is adorned with elegant drapes, mood lighting and rows of twinkling fairy lights, leads straight into the equally atmospheric Garden venue, offering a lovely, light and airy space for guests, with a contemporary feel.

Lower Barns

Lower Barns Farm, in St Ewe, positions itself as the ultimate retreat for ‘runaway’ and elopement weddings, welcoming couples from near and far to tie the knot in The Wed Shed, The Shack or The Lounge. There’s plenty of eyecandy here too, with an enviable collection of memorabilia, art and off-the-wall design to soak up. This boutique wedding venue is close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the coast, offering couples a dreamy stay and getaway experience.

The wild card

And finally, here’s some additional food for thought. While there are lots of opportunities to have your wedding in a beautifully restored barn with a modern twist; alternatively, you could go for a non-converted and non-restored barn. Choosing a barn that maintains all of its quirks (think straw bales and a bit of dust) will undeniably provide a fun and different experience for you and your guests. Plus, transforming the space into a fabulous wedding venue will add to the pre-wedding excitement and encourage you to think a little further outside the box.

Whether you choose a boutique, rustic or untouched barn venue for your wedding, you can guarantee the photos will be equally distinctive and captivating. Get in touch to discuss photography options for your momentous day.
