Cornwall weddings do not come much more action packed than this one! Jenni and Pier’s wedding at The Alverton Hotel was a real beauty! The whole day just flowed naturally, perfect for my style of documentary photography!
Everywhere I turned there was something to photograph. All the guests were so happy to be a part of this special day. The Alverton has some great outside space for photos - especially under an amazing tree as you can see in the gallery above. The canopy gave some really lovely light. The result was a really great black and white photograph of the couple, which and has won first prize in an international wedding photography competition!
The Alverton hotel was formerly a convent that was the home of 'Community of the Epiphany' from 1876. In 1984 the building became to large to house the nuns and was converted into a grand, country house hotel. Nowadays, as well as The Great Hall, library and terrace, the venue has around 12 acres of gardens and outdoor areas making it perfect for sunny summer day shots. Amazingly, this stunning former home of flora enthusiast William Tweedy can accommodate a 180 person wedding
I was really happy to be available when they first got in touch because we got on so well from the start. I always want to make sure that I am right for a bride and groom they book me for their wedding. It is really important that we click and that we are on the same page.
The wedding ceremony was held in The Alverton’s Great Hall. The space is really dramatic and allowed me to be creative with the photographs. It also was a great place for a party at the end of day which Jenni and Piers certainly knew how to throw!
Congratulations Jenni and Piers I loved shooting your day! xx
" We are so happy with our wedding pictures – and so pleased that we booked Andrew as our photographer! On the day itself, Andrew was a calm presence throughout. Ben and I never felt as if we were being photographed yet every moment was captured.
We would both thoroughly recommend Andrew. Professional, relaxed and approachable, Andrew’s style of working is first-class and we both agree that booking Andrew was our best “wedmin” decision.”
